Brahmaji Temple:-

asotraAsotra is the site of world’s second Brahma Temple built by late Brahmarshi Sant Khetaram ji Maharaj. The first being Pushkar. Lord Brahma is the prominent lord god of the Hindu triad. The other two are Vishnu and Mahesh. Brahma is the lord of creation. There is one temple of Brahma at Pushkar. The other is here. The yellow (golden stone) of Jaisalmer has been used in the construction of main entrance hall. The rest of the temple is made of Jodhpur Stone (Chhitar Stone). The idol of Shri Brahma ji is made of Marble. The carving work however is unique. The foundation of the temple was laid on 20th April 1961 but the deity was enthroned on 6th May 1984.The place has now developed as a major tourist attraction of the region pulling thousands of tourists and devotees each year. Every year on 5th day of the bright half of Vaisakh month (May) the Pran-Prathishta ceremony is commemorated. On the next day, the death anniversary of Sant Kheteshwar ji Maharaj (the founder of the temple) is observed. Other major festivals celebrated here are – Mahashivratri and Guru Poornima.

Shree Khetaramji Maharaj spent his Childhood in Kheda village. In the age somewhere between 12-14 years he met a Mahatma in Kheda village due to which Vairagya was born in the heart of Shree Khetaramji Maharaj. Khetaramji started visiting Shree Malangshah’s Sai ji ki Beri.He performed bhakti daily morning and evening. These continued for 2-2.5 years. Shree Malangshah advised Khetaramji Maharaj to accept Shree Ganeshanadji as his spiritual Guru. During last days of Shree Malangshah, Khetaramji executed all bodily services to him and received his mercy and blessings. After Death of Shree Malangshah, Khetaramji Maharaj went to his ancesteral village Srana.

Khetaramji Maharaj’s engagement was done to a girl of Goliya village by his parent but since Khetaramji heart was in bhakti, he went to Goliya village and with due respect accepted the girl as sister and gave Rs. 10 to her father. After age of 18.5 years, Khetaramji Maharaj went to Shivana village and with help of villagers there constructed Baba Ramdevji’s Mandir.

Then he went to Mutli Village and performed Bhakti for 1 year and gave message of peace, Ahinsa to local people their and asked Bhil community to give up killing of goats.

As Saint never stays at single place for a long time, he then travelled to Samdhari village. He made a Shiva Dhuni and took an oath of silence for next 12 years and started performing tapasya. After completing 12 years he built Mahadev temple.

2-3 km away from Samadhari village near pipaji’s mandir he performed bhakti for a long duration. With Help of Horse Mukund he travelled to Paati village near Pali, stayed there and constructed Savitri Ma temple and also established Lord Shiva Temple there.

From Pati Village he travelled to Aasotra village, place where there is a pyao of 24 villages and took a resolution of constructing Shree Brahmaji Mandir in Aasotra.

On Vaishakh Shukla Panchami 2018(20 April 1961) he performed bhumi Pujan, made Shiv Dhuna and started to construct Lord Brahma Temple. To construct Shree Brahma temple he took donations only from Rajpurohit’s and this started from village Jasol. Donations were all done through receipts and these are present now too. Lord Brahma’s water should not come in feet of people so he made an arrangement by putting pipes deep down under earth and established Kashyapraj at the bottom of pipes. Finally on Vaishak Shukla Panchami Vikram samvant 2041(6 May 1984) at 12:20 noon Lord Brahma was established in main temple and thousands of thousands people participated in this religious ceremony. Just after these 12 hours of ceremony, at 12:20 midnight Shree Khetaramji Maharaj sat in lotus posture and left his body by saying “Hari Om”.
